Rocky’s Road races (formerly the “Let Freedom Run” races) are a 4-mile and 1-mile fun run and walk.

Sponsored by Grizzly Activities, Inc., a local running group, the event starts with race-day registration from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. in the north student parking lot outside the Multipurpose Building on the west side of the high school gymnasium. The high school’s street address is 204 Seventh Ave. N.W. On race day, T-shirts will be available only in limited numbers and sizes.

The race start times are 8 a.m. sharp for the 4-mile race and 8:15 a.m. for the 1-mile fun run.

Pre-registration fees are: $15 per person (includes one T-shirt) and a discount is offered for families of three or more. Under the family discount, the first family member’s registration is $15 and every subsequent member (13 and older) is $10.

Race-day registration costs are: $20 per person (one T-shirt, if available). Under the family discount, the first family member’s registration is $20 and every subsequent member (13 and older) is $15.

Extra challenge: All participants in the 4-mile race will have the option on their registration form to donate an additional $10 and complete seven-plus laps on the new track after they have completed the 4-mile course so their total distance is 5.8 miles in honor of Rocky’s last birthday when he turned 58. A major benefactor is providing a 100 percent match for each person who signs up to do the extra 1.8 miles. Runners who sign up for the extra mileage will receive a certificate showing they helped raise 20 extra dollars for Cancer Vive It and honored Rocky’s 58th birthday.
